Ontario Enhanced New Housing Rebates (OENHR)
Receive up to $80,000 Plus an Additional $50,000 For Owner Initiated Custom-Built Homes and Substantial Renovation
Owner Initiated Custom-Built Homes:
The Ontario Government has released updates to the Enhanced New Housing Rebate Program which provides rebates for Owner-Initiated Custom-Built Homes for:
- Custom Home must be Primary Residence
- The construction of the new home must start between April 1, 2026 and March 31,
2027 - Work must be started (excavation, foundation etc.), not just a signed agreement
with a builder - Construction needs to be completed within 2 years from the start date
Substantial Renovations
Property owners must renovate 90% or more of their Primary Residence excluding the
basement
- Start the substantial renovation between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027
- Homeowners have 2 years to finish the renovation from the start date
The Ontario Enhanced New Housing Rebate amounts:
